Psalm 42:8 means that God’s faithful love continues even when the believer feels spiritually low. The psalmist does not deny discouragement, but he refuses to let discouragement become the only truth he remembers.
Day and night together suggest the whole rhythm of life. God’s love is not temporary, and worship is not restricted to bright or easy moments.
