What Does 2 Corinthians 5:7 Mean?
2 Corinthians 5:7 means that Christians are called to live according to trust in God rather than according to visible circumstances alone.
What we can see is real, but it is incomplete. We see present weakness, uncertainty and mortality. Faith also takes seriously what God has promised about His presence, resurrection and eternal life.
Paul is not praising wishful thinking. Biblical faith rests on the character and promises of God, not on imagined outcomes.
Living by faith therefore means making choices shaped by what God has said, even when the immediate evidence does not yet show the full result.
The Biblical Context of 2 Corinthians 5:7
